Start with your goal
Choose a French test and a provider. Lesson 1, 10 min.
Name your goal before you pick a provider. The goal sets the provider type.
Match the goal to the type
- You need to take or retake an exam: look for an official test centre that names your test on its own page.
- You need to learn French or reach a higher level: look for a school or course.
- You live far from any school, or you need flexible hours: look for online prep.
Learn first, then test
The school where you learn may not host the test. The centre that hosts the test may not teach. Many people use two providers. This is normal.
The guide advises that you book a test centre only when you and your instructor agree that you are ready. This course cannot judge your level. Your instructor can.
Write your goal down
Write one sentence: what you need, and where you live. Use it on the city pages. The filters narrow the list by provider type, test, format and exam preparation.
